Miss Liz - Assistant Teacher
Miss Liz has been dancing for 7 years and did competitive gymnastics for many years! She takes Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Acro, Pointe and Tap. Liz has completed her level 5 Acrobatic Arts exam, and is enrolled in the Acrobatic Arts Assistant Teacher's Certification Program. This will be her third year of assisting. Her favorite part about dance is the friendships she makes. Outside of dance, Miss Liz likes to hang out with friends and go shopping.

Miss Becky- Stud​ent Teacher
Becky is a Sr Student at Clavet School and has been dancing for 10 years. She has completed her first set
of ADAPT Tap and J
azz Exams with Step It Up this spring and continues to look for opportunities to learn.
She attended the Alberta Dance Teacher Convention this summer where she participated in the Student
Teacher Training program as well the Acrodance for Preschoolers seminar presented by Acrobatic Arts.
She has assisted at Step It Up Dance for several years and looks forward to the opportunity.
Becky loves to teach because she loves watching the kids grow and improve. She loves dance as a fun
means of self expression and is excited to share her love of dance with younger students.

Miss Rachael – Assistant Teacher
Miss Rachael is 14 and has been dancing since she was 3! She participated in exams this spring in both
Tap and Acro, where she has received her Jr 3 Tap, and has completed her level 5 in Acrobatic Arts. This is Rachael’s 3rd year assisting classes and she can’t wait to start!

Geri Cey, Artistic Director


Geri Cey is a founding executive member and the Artistic Director of Step it Up Dance in Clavet Sk.  

Geri is an award winning choreographer and performer who began dancing at the age of 4 in Saskatoon. She has studied Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Musical Theatre, Song and Dance, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern and continues to expand her knowledge.  Achieving her advanced ADAPT Tap and Jazz exams as well as her RAD Elementary (Intermediate), she also received drama training through Persephone theatre and the University of Saskatchewan.  Geri has participated in both dance and drama workshops and competitions throughout Western Canada, winning multiple awards and scholarships.  She was a dancer in the Dare to Dance company as well as working as a dancer for events such as Cruise Weekend in Saskatoon and the Festival of Trees.    

Geri is ADAPT (Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers) certified in Tap and Jazz, Acrobatic Arts certified to Module 2, PBT (Progressive Ballet Technique) certified,  and currently studying to become a Licentiate in Ballet with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. Geri is a certified adjudicator with Acrobatic Arts and Canadian Dance Leadership and is also proud to be a Rhythmworks Integrated Dance certified instructor and member of the Saskatchewan Association of Theatre Professionals. Regularly attending workshops, teacher courses and classes, Geri continues to look for professional development opportunities anywhere she can!

Over the years her students have seen numerous successes under her mentorship from multiple scholarships and awards to being awarded a broadcast performance spot on Telemiracle.  In 2022 she had the honour of being nominated for a Saskatchewan Arts Leadership Award in recognition of her contribution to art, teamwork and inclusivity in the community of Clavet.   Most recently she has been selected to be a facilitator for Dance Saskatchewan’s LEAD conference for youth leadership in dance.

Geri is a firm believer in teamwork, community and being accountable to each other.  She believes that the studio should be a place where everyone comes to feel accepted, welcome and free to express themselves without judgement.  There’s so much more to what you see on stage than just a costume and movement, and she believes that this should be showcased and celebrated part of the dance experience for all ages.

Miss Izzy- Assistant Teacher
Miss Izzy has been dancing since she was 5 and can’t wait to start assisting! She takes Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical and Musical Theatre. This year she is going to try Tap! Izzy can’t wait to start helping younger students, watching them grow and to share in her love of dance.

Miss April- Assistant Teacher
Miss April started dance when she was 5 and was instantly hooked! She participates in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre and Acro, and this spring completed her Jr 3 Tap ADAPT exam. She has been assisting at Step It Up for 2 years and can’t wait to return. Her favorite part about dance is that when she’s dancing, she can express how she feels. Outside of dance, April enjoys volleyball, reading, crafting and hanging out with friends.

Miss Cori

Miss Cori Udell is a dancer of over 15 years, with training in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Heels, and more. Her competitive training includes Envisions Dance Club in Colonsay, Impact Dance Company in Humboldt, Pure Energy Dance Company in Saskatoon, and Dance Ink in Saskatoon. Cori has completed dance examinations in CDTA Tap and Jazz, RAD Ballet, and ADAPT Jazz. Cori was sure of her passion and love for dance at a young age and emanated this dedication inside and outside of the studio. She started teaching at just 14 years old and has received numerous awards, scholarships, and acknowledgements for her achievements as both a dancer and choreographer. 

Cori still trains in a variety of classes today, and continues to further develop her skills as both a professional dancer and choreographer. A few of many notable career highlights are; Saskatchewan Rush Original 16 Electric Crew, opening for world-renowned drag queen Aja LaBeija, Guns N Roses tribute The Nightrain, Summer Of Sound music festival, and OUTSaskatoon’s Glitter Gala.

Cori loves sharing her passion of dance with her students. She teaches high level dance technique, motivating each student to perform their best, while honouring their body, mind, and spirit. Cori recognizes dance and movement as a therapeutic vessel, and she creates a safe space for students to explore artistic self-expression in her classes.

Miss Tya- Assistant Teacher
Miss Tya loves helping with classes and can’t wait to get back at it. She has been assisting at Step It Up for 2 years. Her favorite part about assisting is helping younger students to understand, and to share her love of dance. Outside of dance, Tya enjoys 4H as well.
