*NEW* Foundational Technique and Stretch- September through December - Perfect Supplement for competitive students and students interested in examinations. *NEW* Examination Prep - January to Exam Date- Students wishing to participate in tap and jazz exams! Exams are a wonderful way to set personal goals. Unlike competitions, the only person you are competing against is yourself! Exams are set to a technique standard and less subject to artistic opinion. They reward achievement and motivate further learning. This class will prepare students for tap and jazz exams in the ADAPT syllabus of dance. Exams will be held virtually in June, with the class running alternating Fridays (tap one week, jazz the next) from January to exam date. No classes on good Friday, or if the dancers are at competitions. Examination cost: there is a fee charged to Step It Up per student for the exam itself by the examiner. A fun night out, no experience necessary! We'll meet you at the barre! Please talk to us if interested, or register through the link at the top of the page!
Please note: All classes Level 1 and higher are considered when preparing for competition. Other classes may be eligible to go to competition depending on how ready their teacher feels they will be, and by permission of the parents. All hip hop classes, except for primary, may also go to competition. If you have questions or concerns regarding competition, feel free to speak with us! We generally attend 2 or 3 competitions per season.
